Andrew began his time at north in 2013 as a intern. Three years, a lot of laughs, a few tears, and a grip of hugs he is now part of our kitchen management team. He is also the only guy to successfully shoot a (live & wild) turkey with a bow and arrow at the restaurant (though many have tried).
Ryan Doyle (retired)
Ryan joined our team at the beginning of 2016 as a manager in the kitchen. He slinged at a bunch of not great restaurants for a few years before joining the team at Nick's on Broadway, where he became the preeminent omelette guy. After a few years of "livin it up in the city" at Ssam Bar, Ryan took a job at north where he still cooks rice cakes. He used to have short hair, but he just came back from living in Brooklyn, so, you know...
Tim Shulga (retired)
Tim was the backbone of our operation and half of our back of house management team from opening until the end of 2015. A wildcard of ideas, he makes the dopest kimchi and red curry that I've ever had.
Jenn is our front of house hero. An organizational maven, on a daily basis she keeps the restaurant from blowing up into a massive pile of forgotten invoices and uncashed checks.
Michael J Lawyer (retired)
Mike was one half of the back of house management team from 2013 until the end of 2015. He is constantly pushed our food in new directions with the skill and finesse of a master of his craft. He dreams of meeting Tay Tay in the rain.
Kelly Dull (retired)
Kelly ran our bakery top to bottom from opening until the summer of 2015. Her work ethic, creativity and technical skill are a wonder to behold. Her chocolate chip cookie is why we opened a bakery in the first place.
John Toon Chester (semi-retired)
John helped us as our original front of house manager of north, chief cartographer, and then general contractor (kinda) of the north bakery buildout. A drink was named after him in the early days of north and has been one of our most popular since. He retired to Arizona in 2014, but we pull him out for the occasional pinch hit.
Conor is the restaurant's part time builder full time bud. While he no longer lives in Rhode Island, he comes back and makes repairs and improvements to the space every few months. The entire bakery was designed and built by him with John's help. He will work harder than you and then party harder than you. We love him to bits.
James opened north in 2012 with the help of his buds and the support of an amazing community. He works everyday to support his friends and give back to the community that gave him everything. He does this generally by spinning in circles.
